Stravaig offers full luxury in this modern yacht designed for performance and beauty. Below you will find teak joinery with rich tan leather cushions. The large main saloon table allows for dining below in the comfortable air conditioning or you may choose to dine above at the ample cockpit table and enjoy the evening sunset.

Entertainment systems are located in the main saloon and each double cabin allowing guests to view their own movies from the main DVD system or listen to music on their iPod with the yachts iPod interface. Stravaig also has underwater lighting and an underwater camera. Guests may watch schools of fish swim under the yacht on the main saloon TV.

A charter onboard Stravaig will be tailored to suit your requirements. There is an extensive range of water sport equipment onboard to enjoy - water skiing, wake boarding, diving, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking or for the more adventurous, pole swinging!

Tom Davis and Fiona Hirst

Tom and Fiona met in Virgin Gorda, BVIs whilst working on the world famous J-Class yacht, Velsheda, and have worked together ever since, both having a passion for being at sea and sailing.

Tom’s enthusiasm for sailing started at a young age building his first boat at 9 years old with his father. Having sailed and raced all his life Tom has crewed within the yachting industry for over 10 years, and has logged more than 65,000NM, including eleven trans-atlantics and has extensively cruised the Mediterranean and Caribbean. 

Tom has also competed in many regattas and national events, including operating as the Bowman onboard the stunning J-Class yacht Velsheda, where he was trained by the Team NZ coach.

As a competent YachtMaster, and a qualified sailing instructor Tom’s enthusiasm for sailing along with his ability to make you feel at ease will ensure that you have an enjoyable but safe charter onboard Stravaig.

Tom is very active and really enjoys, all sports especially wake boarding and snow boarding. He loves free diving, fishing and mountain biking.

 

Fiona has a degree in Health and Sports Science and like Tom leads a very healthy and active lifestyle. Since her degree Fiona has been involved with water sports or has been at sea. Fiona has worked within the yachting industry for over 5 years as a Stewardess, Deckhand, and Chef onboard both motor and sailing yachts. Fiona has an extensive knowledge of running the interior of a yacht and has cruised in both the Mediterranean and Caribbean, as well as the east coast of Australia.

Fiona enjoys combining her love for cooking with sailing and working onboard yachts, and has trained at the Gables school of cookery as well as in a Modern French Cuisine restaurant.

Fiona combines influences from countries that she has visited, especially from doing a course in Thailand, producing a variety of styles and specialising in vegetarian and healthy dishes, she loves shopping at local markets and using fresh and local produce. She makes a great variety of bread and loves to spoil you with delectable canapés and cocktails.

Fiona is very bubbly and very creative from cooking, to table settings, to the cabins, she will ensure that your time onboard Stravaig is pleasant and enjoyable. Fiona also loves diving, wake boarding, skiing, horse riding and dancing!

Together Tom and Fiona will tailor your holiday to meet your requirements whether it be peace and relaxation, a romantic or a family fun packed action holiday.

Tom loves to teach sailing and enjoys getting everyone involved. He is great at teaching wake boarding or taking you to the best spots either in a secluded bay or a hot spot for nightlife etc Tom and Fiona specialise in doing evening beach BBQs, maybe even with a lobster that Tom has caught or with fish you have caught that day.

Fiona and Tom compliment each other very well and will endeavour to ensure that your charter onboard Stravaig is enjoyable, comfortable and most importantly safe.

We so much enjoyed our 2 weeks on board of Stravaig!! We have such wonderful
memories of the sailing on this wonderful boat, how it cut through the waves without any effort, the moorings, the negoatiations about fish, lobster, bread and vegetable, the absolutely delicious meals, the atmosphere, and your company.
